Summer Challenge

Welcome to another challenge at Exploring Cricut!  This is the gettin ready for summer challenge.  The challenge is to create a card, layout, or other papercraft that shows an activity that you are looking forward to for this summer.  You have to use at least 2 cuts.

I'm so excited for this summer.  As some of you know I lost my Ellabelle this February, as I write this post I'm anxiously awaiting Saturday so I can go pick out a new pup!  I'm sure there will be lots of projects with pictures throughout the summer!  Also very excited about school ending on May 17th!!!  Of course, that's taking second place to the pup.  There are so many activities to choose from for summer that it was hard to decide which one to use.  I decided to go with one of my favorite pasttimes of my youth, swimming!
I used a mat from Die Cuts With a View for my background cause it looked like waves.  For my cuts I used the cartridges 3 Birds on Parade and Calligraphy Collection.

3 Birds on Parade:  the chick is cut at 4.29"
Calligraphy Collection:  "Welcome Summer" is cut at 1.59" and then welded using my Gypsy.

I added stickle polka dots to the floatie and liquid glass to the goggles for a little dimension.

Thanks for visiting my blog and have an awesome Memorial Day!

  3. I just love this image and the word art, works perfectly together! Is the liquid glass like Glossy Accents? Where do you purchase that? Great job.
