Keep on Truckin'

Hi all! I'm back to share with everyone another t-shirt from this summer's fun project. This shirt was made for sweet Aden who is about 30 months old and loves trucks...any type of truck.

This shirt was a little different than the robot shirt and a little more complicated in it's own way. for this shirt I had to be very careful about applying the paint after the first color because it would cover parts of what had alread been covered.

I started with the cab of the truck then main part of the truck. The wheels although small were slightly tricky just trying to avoid not covering the yellow centers.

Once the truck was painted and dried I decided to paint Aden's name on the truck instead of around it. This set it apart a little more from the other t-shirts that I've completed this summer. Two more painted t-shirts to show you from this summer. I can't wait for you to see what I have for you next month!!

Take Me To Your Leader

Hi All, Today I'd like to share with you another t-shirt. I had so much fun making the first one that I had to make others. Each of several friends agreed to be a test subject and agreed to wear one of my creations. Of course the babies/kids don't really have a say it's all in what their moms decide to put them in. Bella, at 18 months is picking out her own outfits, but Aden, being the "guy" that he is could care less.
Today's t-shirt was made for Jackson. I loved doing this little robot just about as much as the teapot, and it was a little more challenging because of doing so many different colors and the different pieces. I have to admit I was pleased with the outcome and Jackson's reaction. "Cool Mom! It's Wall-E!"

This shirt was completed the same as the teapot as far as cutting the image out of freezer paper using my cricut. I ironed the main design onto the t-shirt then ironed the individual pieces. I painted the main color, then once that color dried started removing pieces by what color they were going to be.

Once I finished with my little robot guy I designed how I wanted Jackson's name to go on the shirt using my gypsy, then cut that out using freezer paper, ironed it onto the shirt then painted.

May 31 Daily Post

Wow, the time sure does go by quickly.  This daily project really snuck up on me.  I've decided to try something new this summer and today's daily project is the first of many.  I am using my cricut to paint different designs onto t-shirts.  I thought this would be way more difficult than it is.  I bought all my t-shirts at Wal-Mart (in case I destroyed them I didn't want to pay a bunch). 

After deciding on a design place freezer paper (again bought at Wal-Mart) on the cutting mat with the shiny side down.  Load into the Cricut the way you normally would and cut your design.  You want the negative image for this project as well as all the time pieces.  (You are covering the areas you do not want painted).
Place the freezer paper (again shiny side down) on your t-shirt and iron the freezer paper in place.  (you want to use a hot iron with no steam)  When you are finished the freezer paper will peel off, usually pretty easily. 

For this t-shirt I painted the teapot first (3.47" from Once Upon a Princess) once that dried, peel the freezer paper off and iron the negative image of the "B" over the teapot (2.18" from Doodletype cartridge).  If you are wanting to decorate a much bigger shirt it is possible to do a full name.  This shirt is for one of my special angels who is only 18 months so this shirt is pretty tiny.
