The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Welcome to my little spot in blog world.  This weeks challenge with Exploring Cricut is to create a card, layout, or other paper craft that celebrates Christmas.  The only "rules" are to use a Cricut machine and a cricut cartridge.  With that being said, here's my project for this weeks challenge.

I absolutely love Christmas, and at church I've told the Advent story in the Children Worship & Wonder center now for 3 years (which is how long we've had the center).  I love this activity and the figures because of their simpleness.  They are created that way so that the children can use their imagination.  As an adult we've seen the tv programs and the movies so we have preconceived notions of what the people of the nativity story look like.  My project for this week is a wall hanging that celebrates the Nativity story.  I've used the cartridge A Quilted Christmas.  I love the silhouette feature on this cartridge.  It's fancy enough for this important occasion yet it reminds me of the simplicity of the figures of the worship center.
The pattern paper is from the Wonderland line from Close to My Heart.  Each figure was cut out of Chocolate cardstock at 3.47 inches.  I added mini sparkles to fancy it up a bit.  I decided to cut the baby Jesus out of colored cardstock so that he would stand out and be the focal point.
With everything going on in the world now.  It's hard at times to remain cheerful and hopeful for the future, but my wish for you is that you find some joy in creating a project that celebrates this most wonderful season.  Jesus is the reason for the season, and maybe he needs to be invited into all aspects of our lives.
Merry Christmas!!
